Twax Joints – What They Are And How To Roll Them

With the cannabis industry rapidly expanding, it should come as no surprise that Twax joints aren’t all that familiar to people. After all, there are dozens of ways to consume weed now. Regardless, Twax joints are becoming more and more popular.

Twax joints are perfect for cannabis veterans who’ve built up a natural immunity to regular joints. Let’s be honest, after years of smoking regular amounts of weed, you may need more. This particular type of joint is guaranteed to get you high out of your mind, and we’re going to teach you how to roll one! This article will serve as a step by step guide with respect to rolling your own Twax joints and will go in-depth as to what a Twax joint actually is.

So what is a Twax joint?

A Twax joint is essentially a regular joint combined with cannabis concentrate. By inserting concentrate into, around, or onto the end of the joint, you’ll receive a massive hit that many can no longer get from simply smoking a regular joint. Twax joints have been a favorite among users who’ve built up a tolerance towards regular joints, and they’re only recently becoming popular amongst regular marijuana users.

A Twax joint is the best way to get the strength of a dab without all of the intense equipment. Dabbing typically requires an intricate rig set up, and a lot of weed smokers don’t like that. They prefer the classic joints. This is exactly why Twax joints are becoming so popular. People are getting tired of all the new gear and want a blast of the past.

Below we’re going to show you how to roll your own Twax joint, but first, we need to cover the materials that you’re going to need!

Materials

Considering this article is particularly aimed at veteran users looking for a heavy hit, most of you will probably have the majority of what’s needed for this process. If you don’t, a local weed shop should have everything we require.

  • Marijuana Concentrate: When obtaining marijuana concentrate, try and get something that’s more waxy. Definitely keep in mind that extract and concentrate are different things but should both work for this process.
  • Rolling Papers: Just your regular old rolling papers will work. Keep a whole bunch on hand.
  • You’re favorite marijuana strain: Any strain will work, so pick your favorite!
  • A reliable lighter: You’re definitely going to need a lighter. You’ll be using it to not only light the joint but to soften it up your concentrate and/or extract.
  • You’re a favourite type of dabbing tool: This will help you shape the concentrate rather than having it stay a regular old blob. This tool is very important because it’s difficult to roll the joint without it.
  • Rubbing Alcohol: This particular item is not for the joint, but for your fingers. Rolling a joint with a waxy concentrate can make your fingers unbelievably sticky. As that’s super annoying we recommend keeping Rubbing Alcohol on hand. If you’ve got none, coconut oil should work too.
  • Snacks: A Twax joint is super powerful, and it’s likely to couch lock you. You’re going to want to be prepared for a case of the munchies.

The Process of Making a Twax Joint

So it’s finally time to start rolling your Twax joint! We’re going to include two different ways to roll a Twax joint. One lets you keep the concentrate on the outside, and the other keeps it on the inside. Which one you pick is based upon your own personal preferences. Let’s get right into it.

Side Note – We recommend you read every step before starting so you ensure everything goes right. It would suck to hit step 4 and realize you did step 2 wrong! Just saying!

Option 1 – Concentrate On The Outside

  1. Gather your materials and lay them out around you. Your hands are going to be sticky so make sure the rubbing alcohol is always close.
  2. Start to melt the concentrate using your lighter and a dabbing tool. Stop heating it when it becomes easy to shape and spread.
  3. Spread the concentrate so that it takes the shape of a snake.
  4. Lay the concentrate out on a piece of rolling paper from one end to the other.
    1. This particular method makes sure that every hit you take will be super strong.
  5. Take your cannabis and grind it up if you haven’t already. Fill the joint with cannabis and roll it up the same way you would a normal joint.
    1. If you don’t know how to roll up a regular joint we recommend going back and looking at one of our introductory guides.
  6. Light the joint and inhale! Enjoy the strength and power of a Twax joint! Congratulations you’ve rolled your first Twax joint.

Option 1 is a fan favorite because it lets you conceal the concentrate so it seems as though you’re smoking a regular joint. For people looking for the entire classic experience with the strength of a dab, this is the option to choose.

Option 2 – Concentrate On The Inside

Before attempting this second option, you’re going to need to get a concentrate that’s particularly sappy. You’re going to want it to take a very specific shape, and regular waxy concentrate probably won’t do the trick. You’re welcome to try with your regular concentrate, but be prepared to fail. It might work, so if you’re feeling confident, go ahead and ignore this disclaimer.

  1. Take your concentrate and roll it into a tube-like shape. You’ll need the concentrate to be longer than that of an average joint (or at least the joint you are expecting to the role). We’ll expand upon this in step 3.
  2. Time to roll up a regular joint. Use the weed you would have used for option two and the same rolling paper. You’re going to want to ensure that this joint is super tight so no weed falls out.
  3. For this step, you’re going to want to take your concentrate tube, and wrap it around your joint in a spiral pattern. Ever seen a snake slither up a staff? Do it like that.
    1. Start this step by attaching one end to the bottom of your joint, and begin the pattern. Your concentrate should be long enough to reach the other end.
  4. Time to light your joint and take a huge inhale. Enjoy the strength and power of a Twax joint! Congratulations you’ve rolled your first Twax joint.

Final Thoughts

If you’re a beginner or even a moderately experienced cannabis user, be careful with Twax joints. The potency of these joints is off the charts, and will really mess you up if you don’t have a high tolerance. If you’re desperate to start out, follow the above steps but use a lot less concentrate. You need to work your way up to the full amount. This level of THC is a lot more than a regular joint, so you need to be careful!

With all of this in mind, you need to be sure that weed is actually legal in your country or region. Before following any of the above steps, check the laws of your area! We are not responsible for any violations on your part, nor are we responsible for beginners smoking joints that are way too strong for them. Consider yourself warned!

Now that you know how to roll Twax joints, it’s time to go out and impress your friends. Roll some up and hand them out. Not only will they be impressed, but they’ll be higher than the damn moon. Great for parties and literally every other situation if you’re a little on the wild side.
