Jimmy’s Cannabis – Rossland

CANNABINOIDS

Both humans and cannabis make cannabinoids. The most well known cannabinoids found in cannabis are THC and CBD. Humans make cannabinoid through the endocannabinoid system. The effect you experience from consuming cannabis are the cannabinoids from your body and the plant interacting. Because everyone has a different number of endocannabinoid receptors and are located in different areas of their body, effect of consuming cannabis are different depending on the person.

CBD

CBD is the non-intoxicating cannabinoid that’s found in the plant. Different strains of cannabis can have varying levels of THC vs. CBD.  CBD specific products can come in oils, capsules, edibles, topicals.

THC

THC is the psychoactive cannabinoid that’s found in cannabis. Those who are looking for the intoxicating effect seek higher THC levels. THC is responsible for the change in mind and body. THC replaces human cannabinoids for a period of time.

TERPENES

Terpenes are the oils in the cannabis plant that gives it it’s specific aroma. Every strain has a different combination of terpenes giving it its unique scent. Some primary terpenes found in cannabis are: pepper, spice, earth, citrus, floral, sweet, and floral.

SATIVA VS. INDICA

Sativa strains are generally understood to be more uplifting and stimulating while Indica’s provide a more relaxed and restful experience. However each perosn experiences these uniquely.

FLOWER

The classic, loose flower, can be consumed in a variety of ways and is available in many varying levels of THC (the psychoactive element to cannabis that activates when decarboxylated). This form of cannabis is most commonly consumed using joints, blunts, pipes, and bongs. THC levels generally range from 10-29% depending on the strain.

VAPE – Coming December 2019

Vapes are used with either disposable pens or refillable cartridges.  Vaping is often preferred due to the lack of combustion and is a smoother option for some. Another benefit to vaping is the discreetness, the vape trail is a lot smaller as opposed to smoking.

EDIBLES AND BEVERAGES – Coming December 2019

Any food infused by cannabis is considered an edible.  Common edibles will likely include gummies, baked goods, chocolates, and even beverages. Some advantages to edibles is that the experience can potentially last longer and the consumer can avoid inhalation.

CONCENTRATES – Coming December 2019

The active ingredients  in cannabis are called cannabinoids and are found in the trichomes of the plant. The trichomes are crystal-like, cover the flower and are highly concentrated with terpenes. Concentrates are a variety of ways the trichomes are isolated from the cannabis plant. Concentrate typically have about an 80% THC level. There are many different kinds of concentrates such as:

SHATTER- because of its contents, shatter is solid at room temperature giving it a glass-like look and breaks easily when handled, hence the name.

LIVE RESIN-Live resin is extracted using a live plant as opposed to the other concentrates. Using the live plants allows it to take advantage of its aromas to create the highest terpene profile of any concentrate

KEIF- loose trichomes that are sifted from the ground up flower
