Named similarly to landraces such as Hawaiian or Thai, North American is a strain classification for any cannabis growing in North America. Landraces from this region can display as sativa or indica phenotypes given the wide variety of climates. Closer to the equator, North American sativas are more likely to flourish while indicas are usually past 30 degrees latitude.
